1. इसकी स्थापना जीन हेनरी डयूनेन्ट (Jean Henry Dunent) ने की थी इनके जन्म दिन के अवसर पर प्रति वर्ष 8 मई के दिन काे विश्व रेडक्रॉस (Red Cross) दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है

2. जीन हेनरी डयूनेन्ट काे अपनी मानव सेवा के लिए वर्ष 1901 में पहला नोबेल पुरस्कार (Nobel Prize) भी दिया गया था
(Jean-Henri Deanent was given the Nobel prize in 1901 for his human service.)
3. रेड क्रॉस (Red Cross) ने प्रथम विश्व युद्ध (First world war) और द्वतीय विश्व युद्ध में अपनी अहम भूमिका निभाते हुऐ घायल सेनिकों और नागरिकों की सहायता की थी
(The Red Cross helped support injured soldiers and citizens while playing a key role in World War I and World War II.)
4. रेड क्रॉस (Red Cross) के इन्ही कार्यों की बदौलत वर्ष 1917 में इस संंस्था को नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार से नवाजा गया था
(Thanks to the same works of the Red Cross, this institution was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1917.)
5. वर्तमान समय में लगभग 186 देशों में रेड क्रॉस (Red Cross) संस्था अपना कार्य कर रही है
